Equine therapy, also known as equine-assisted therapy, offers a range of benefits for mental and physical health, including improved emotional regulation, confidence, and social skills. It can also help with physical impairments like balance, coordination, and body control. The unique relationship with horses fosters trust, communication, and a sense of accomplishment, promoting personal growth and reducing stress.
Equine assisted therapy may be just as effective with children and teens as it is with adult clients. As with adults, children can experience challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD and more.
Equine therapy offers them a therapeutic environment that can feel less threatening and more inviting than a traditional talk therapy office. The majority of children participating in equine therapy are between the ages of 6 to 18 years old.
Children often find it difficult to open up and process painful emotions and experiences. Equine-assisted therapy allows youth, and people of all ages, to work on issues such as:
Vino was born on the 9th April 2017. She was shown as a youngster and then became a mum having several foals. One of which (Spike) is living with us too!
She is silver dapple which means she is constantly changing colour, you may see her with a very dark or very light grey colour depending on the time of the year.

Her father was an American Miniature horse and her mother was British so she is a fully registered mare in the British Miniature Horse Society Stud book.
She has the kindest temperament and loves meeting new people.
Bryan is the newest addition to the team, he was born on the 11th April 2022 So is just a baby really and learning the ropes.
He is Bay and is very small, measuring in at just 77 cms. He has the most gorgeous mane and tail and the children love plaiting him and putting bows in his hair.
He is British Miniature and registered with the Britis

In 2024 he won at various county shows and came 2nd at the prestigious Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead as well as qualifying for the Horse of The Year Show at the NEC in Birmin
Spike is the son of Vino and was born on the 9th May 2022. He is not quite ready to be a therapy horse as is enjoying showing at the highest of levels.
In 2024 he won at various county shows and came 2nd at the prestigious Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead as well as qualifying for the Horse of The Year Show at the NEC in Birmingham and finishing 9th.
Spike has all the same characteristics of his mum Vino and we know he will be an amazing therapy horse when he is no longer showing.
Mickey is another one of our show horses, being born on the 11th June 2023 he is the baby of the team.
He is a British Miniature registered with the BMHS and enjoying a very successful season in the show ring having qualified for the Royal International on his first attempt and aiming for The Horse of the year show qualification now.
